Expect remixes, a song with Ives on it, and songs from the free EP.
working on the mixtape as we speak.
forum back up and stay tuned.
Hey there. I’m back with the forum. I’ve cleaned it up, condensed it, and did more work on stability. Yay!
Something I would love from you guys: [follow] me! I’ll be posting a bit more often to inform you on new posts here on the front page and informing you guys on threads to check out in the forum. Also, spreading the word didn’t hurt anyone.
Stay tuned.
UPDATE: [work-in-progresses]. Check them out at the forum.
hey there. update of big proportions.
Hey there, wauterboi here with an update of things that are going on.
Do you all remember my friend Ivan Ives? Of course you don’t. You’re not a fan. WHY DON’T YOU LOVE ME?
All seriousness aside, Ivan Ives is a great indie rapper that I listen to on a regular basis along with my 3000+ songs on Shuffle.
That is from my favorite album from Ivan Ives, Iconoclast. Let’s move onto something more up to date, shall we?
Okay, okay. That’s from February. But hey, it’s good. And that’s all that matters.
Anyway, I talk to this guy (or at least used to) talk to this guy on a regular basis. There was a long pause, and I sent this guy [if then] and he loved it. Apparently, he loved it so much that he wants to make a mixtape out of it. Oh snap!
On top of this, the guy running Protagonist Records gave the ability to use every song off the album for the mixtape. No holding back.
I adore this idea, and we’re going to take a stab this fall.
Everybody wants a piece of Ives, so now the slices are a smaller size…
Also, I did a remix a while ago. You can listen to that on the radio (titled “Soul (wauterboi’s remix)”) or you can download it from [here]. Also take note that it is on the freely downloadable album, [at birth].
Get your two cents in on this business by heading on down to the [here].
And now for something a little odd: I am going to be talking about real life.
For about… let’s say… half of a year, my mom and dad’s marriage has fallen apart. It’s very sad and at times can be a bit stressful because I had to watch my mom self-destruct. Well, with a lot of glue and duct tape, we’ve reached the last page in the book that is known as my mom and dad’s marriage. My mom got a condo. It rules.
For me, I love it. It’s the right size, it’ll do what we want it to do and a bit more, and it’s our place. (Well, one of them, but it doesn’t matter.) It will slowly transform to our needs and wants and is already in the process of doing so. Right now, our furniture is made up of mainly placeholders except for the cot and this absolutely kickass bed from my girlfriend. (Her sister’s moving and she’s gonna get a room. What does this mean? We get a bed.)
Unfortunately, right now I’m sleeping on the floor, and the cot we have right now is a bit… small. I’m big (not fat) and I kinda have to curl up to sleep in it, and I can only sleep on my stomach. Stupid weird glitch of mine.
What does this mean in the meantime? No internet on parts of Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. On Sunday, there will be no internet all day long. Internet isn’t going to arrive until my mom gets a computer of her own. (I don’t want her paying for the days I’m not there – I’m only there about three days a week.) It’s all worth it though, because while this is the final page in the book that is known as my parents’ marriage, everything is okay otherwise and it’s the start of a new book that will be infinitely awesome-er-er. Er.
A note off to the side: It’s hot as balls. My hands are sweating on my computer and I have to wipe it off. Fortunately, I’m used to desert weather. Even when it gets to 100+ degrees.
Music related, I will be able to make music once I gain the ability and want to. With [null], I wasn’t able to write music for a couple months afterwards – I think my first track was actually in February 2010 and null was officially released in December 2009. I guess I’m doing the same thing again. I’m on break, sir.
Website related, I have done a number of things:
First off, the forum is locked and taken off of the navigation bar because it wasn’t exactly amazingly active and not serving it’s purpose, which was to enable the discussion of my music in an awesome fashion. Welp, there was a track done and the only one up for discussion for a couple weeks, and it was clear that music wasn’t going to be output for a while. It will reopen when music and WIP’s are created and able to be discussed.
Secondly, I brought back my twitter insertion on the right sidebar. It’s sexy, huh? Now to start using Twitter more. Haha, just kidding.
Well, yeah. Just wanted to let you guys know I’m not dead and how things are coming along for me.
Oh, and real quick. I would like to say that I’m also playing a lot of Garry’s Mod. For those who do not know what Garry’s Mod, it’s basically a physics sandbox. If you want to check that out, go [here].
For those of you who do know what Garry’s Mod is, go find me on the Flood and Garry’s Mod Racer servers at [exiledservers]. :D
goals of the forum.
I’ve been asking around for people to join in on the forum and a common question I get asked is this:
“Why a forum?”
There are many different reasons, but one of the main reasons is the fact that you can actually hold a much more meaningful and constructive conversation about one of my songs much better than you would through comments. This is going to prove to be useful, because I will be posting work-in-progresses.
Remember, that’s only one reason. I also think forums are fun. I love thinking in terms of, “Why not?”
QUICK EDIT: (I answer this question a bit more farther down in the list.)
“You have comments. Use them.”
My blog doesn’t really have a community and doesn’t exactly have the ability to have a community. Look all throughout my site and you’ll see little bits of comments here and there and never really about my WIP’s. Ever. (This isn’t to blame you guys.)
A forum also gives you more of a chance of wanting to come back and even for different reasons than just my music. Other people who enjoy my music can interact with others who enjoy my music and voila.
Plus, every time I finished up something or changed a work-in-progress, guess where I went to and guess who I bugged? Everyone and anyone’s community I belonged to and all of my friends on my friends list. It’d be great to have a self-sustaining website with people who care just coming back. This may be a dream, but I’ll try.
“Well, update your blog more often.”
I’m simply going to say no because I don’t make music every minute of every day of every week of every month. Seriously. Music making happens at least once a week and it’s usually just fiddling. I can’t update with my fiddling because my fiddling is usually trash. The ratio of failed tracks to finished tracks is like… 42:1. I’m going to emphasize the next line because it needs to be said with the most stress possible:
All songs I have ever made have been absolute accidents. All of them.
And because of that, I don’t have a set schedule for success. This doesn’t allow me to update my site all the time. (Although, I may start doing so more.)
“So, the entire reason you want to make a forum is because of you and your music? You selfish piece of something.”
Nein, sir. I’ve always wanted to start up my own community, and now I have another reason to. I’ve also wanted to run it. I’ve also wanted to post in it and be as much of an active user as everyone else.
So, for me as a person? In general, yes. Just for my music? No.
I like to talk.
Also, if I were to get this forum running amazingly, I wouldn’t need to go and be forced to shamefully plug my website everywhere I went and get yelled at for it and every time I made a song and every time I did a WIP and every time I ever did anything ever.
The only reason why I did that is because no one’s looking. :P
And of course, there is no guarantee it’ll work, but there’s no harm in trying. I’ve already got a whole bunch of nay-sayers, but we’ll see.
Woo.

“Your link is broken and in BBCode, genius.”
EDIT: Already, it’s thrown me off. D:
new track - "reverberation."
Hey there, I’ve completed a track I did a while back for a game called “Portal: Combat.” Well, the game development stopped being so much development and started being more dead, and so I hadn’t had much inspiration to finish it other than “omg, freaking awesome sounding track. D:!!!” I had just finally got to the point now where I thought I’d actually mix it.
Fun fact: I was tired of trying to mix the song in Jeskola Buzz, and so I moved onto a sexier program: Acid Pro. Much easier to do simple volume changes/fades mid-song.
Because it was released for free before as a demo to the music that would be used for the game, I’m releasing it for free. It may appear on a future album. It may not. Who knows. I’m also kind of siding by a new game that could or could not start. I’ve offered this song for testing and possible use as the theme song if it goes anywhere, but we’ll see how it goes from there.
Describing the song (finally), it’s me returning to the old null sound. Expect destructive drumming, strong basslines, aggressive piano-playing (imagine that), glitching around, and ambient backing synths. Yay.
Something cool about the release of this song is I will use this song as a test topic in the new forum I’m making. It will specifically fall under the board “songs.” and should include discussion ranging from criticism, information regarding how the track was done, and “OMG <3”.
So, underneath, you should find an amazing new link to go with your normal download link.
